Pippen’s customizations makes it easy to create templates of your choice- whether it be for video visits, counseling, well-child visits, and more. In this guide, we will cover how to use Pippen to set up templates of your own. With Pippen’s Premium Plan, you can add an unlimited number of templates to help your workflow! The Pippen Team will be releasing a template library completely geared to family medicine in Winter/Spring 2026, but for now, common templates are available here to use!
Let’s get started!
1. To begin, click the ‘Customizations’ icon on the left hand panel.

2. Click the “Add Template” button to begin adding your preferred template.

3. Enter the name of the template you’d like to create. We’ll use “Counseling Visit” as an example, and type it under the “Template Name” section.

4. In the “Template Instructions” section, we can either write out manual instructions of the way we’d like our documentation to look, or we can choose to copy and paste one of the templates from Pippen’s common templates. After filling in “Template Name” and “Template Instructions”, you can save by clicking “Save.”

5. If this template represents the kind of documentation you most frequently use, click ‘Set as Default.’ This means that next time you start and submit an audio encounter, this template will be used by default (no need to select from your list of templates).

6. To use this template, simply begin an audio encounter. When you have finished the audio encounter, select ‘Documentation’ to see your list of saved templates- simply select the one of your choice. If you click ‘Submit’, your default template will be applied.

And there you have it! A way to easily customize your documentation with Pippen. Every clinician deserves to see their notes the way they desire- Pippen helps you do just that!
