It is so easy to get started with Pippen and introduce AI to your clinical workflows! Below we will walk you through the sign up process, microphone enabling and selection, and signage and consent.
—
Step 1: Sign Up!
Go to pippen.ai
Click on Sign Up Today! Near the top.
Here all you need is your name, email, and password.
Once you have read the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, and confirm you are a Healthcare Professional, click ‘I accept.’
Once you sign up, please check your email for a verification link.
Once you do that, you will see a check mark on the Pippen page. Press continue and your free trial begins.
No credit card is required. Upon signing up, you automatically have access to the Standard Plan, which offers 150,000 tokens a day (enough for approximately 26 encounters per day). The Standard Plan will be available to you as a free trial for 30 days, after which you will be automatically downgraded to the Free Plan (5,000 tokens per day, approximately 1-2 encounters per day).
Step 2: Microphone / Speaker
Please consider what microphone you will use for the AI scribing feature.
Depending on your device, a built-in microphone may already exist for you to use. Because our models are very powerful, most built-in and commercially available microphones work well with Pippen. You can check if you have a built-in microphone in your system settings.
If your computer does not have a built-in microphone, there are some microphones that can be easily purchased online.
As an example, Amazon has a number of omnidirectional microphones available for purchase.
From our experience, we have found the Tonor microphone very easy to use. It simply plugs into your computer via USB (no driver download required) and captures voices from directions all around the microphone. This microphone is also relatively inexpensive ($39.99).
If you need help with selecting a microphone, please email: team@pippen.ai and we will be happy to assist you.
Step 3: Consent
Please consult your own legal team to determine an appropriate consent process for your own clinic.
Some clinics use signage similar to the one below that can be readily seen in their exam rooms.
Before getting started with an encounter, it is important to have a discussion with the patient about the use of the platform during your encounter. See a summary of what the CMPA has to say about using AI in healthcare on the blog.
And that’s it! Bringing AI into your workflows has never been easier. For more information, please contact team@pippen.ai. We are more than happy to help! And for further information about Pippen, please click here.
Today is a great day to reduce your administrative burden!
