Welcome to Pippen, your AI-powered physician assistant. In our How-To Feature 101 Series, we will be going through how to use Pippen’s features to address the entire family medicine workflow beyond its scribing capabilities. Today, we will cover how to use Pippen to set personalized templates! You can find general templates available here.
Our guide will be using the “Customizations” tab. When you enter Pippen’s platform, you will be presented with the left menu options “Encounter”, “History”, and “Customizations”.
Now that you have clicked “Customizations”, you can click the “Add Template” button to begin adding your preferred template. Check out the general templates available here that span from Well Child Visits to Counselling
We’ll use “Counselling Visit” as an example, by typing it under the “Template Name” section. Under the “Template Instructions” section, we can either write out manual instructions of our documentation preference (eg. do not write in SOAP format), copy a custom EMR form, or both. The idea is to ease the workflow of having standardization documentation to your liking, without being limited to presets and allowing the AI to capture any additional information.
After filling in “Template Name” and “Template Instructions”, you can either save by clicking “Save”, or additionally set the template as default by clicking “Set as default template”. This is if it’s a documentation style you most frequently use. This way, as you begin encounters, so long as you do not select a specific template, your notes will produce in this format. You can also find the yellow star beside “Unset Default” after clicking “Save” if you want to remove the option.
Now, you can click back to “Encounter” on the main left menu.
To use any template, you begin your encounter by clicking “Begin with Text” or “Begin with Audio” depending on your needs, and before submitting the transcript/information, you can select the dropdown menu at the “Documentation” button underneath the “Prompt” menu to the right. Selecting the template of preference, for example “Counselling Visit” will produce the note within the template you select.
And there you have it! A way to easily customize your documentation from Pippen. Trying to work around pre-set formats while capturing the entirety of your conversation is a thing of the past! This feature can help you ensure patient care is optimized- who doesn’t want that?
