Welcome to Pippen, your AI-powered physician assistant. In our Mini How-To Series, we will be going through how to use Pippen’s features to address the entire family medicine workflow beyond its scribing capabilities. Today, we will cover how to use Pippen to produce excellent SOAP notes from quick notes that you may have jotted down during your encounter.
Our guide will be using the “Begin with Text” feature. When you enter Pippen’s platform, you will be presented with the option to “Begin with Text” or “Begin with Audio”. To type in rough notes that you would like to turn into a SOAP note, click “Begin with Text”!
Now that you have clicked “Begin with Text”, you can type your rough notes into the platform in the ‘Chat with Pippen’ text box.
Now, click “SOAP Notes” (no need to click the ↑ first). Your notes will be entered into Pippen and a draft SOAP note will be generated automatically. With the text streaming feature, the note will appear as it is being generated. You can choose to put the SOAP note in the patient’s chart as is, or edit it as you see fit when reviewing!
To end the encounter, click the “End Encounter” button in the top right. You can save the encounter name to whichever file name convention you wish (such as patient name and date). The file name defaults to the date and time the encounter began.
And that’s it! You have now produced a high-quality SOAP note that takes the quick notes you jotted down and organizes them into highly readable documentation for your EMR. See here (link to come) for more ways you can interact with Pippen to tailor your documentation according to your preference.
