Welcome to Pippen, your AI-powered physician assistant. In our Mini How-To Series, we will be going through how to use Pippen’s features to address the entire family medicine workflow beyond its scribing capabilities. Today, we will cover how to use Pippen to draft referral letters!
Our guide will be using the “Begin with Text” feature. When you enter Pippen’s platform, you will be presented with the option to “Begin with Text” or “Begin with Audio”. To jot down your own notes, click “Begin with Text”!
Now that you have clicked “Begin with Text”, you can type or insert your own draft notes in the ‘Chat with Pippen’ text box.
To use the referral letter features, click the “Referrals” button on the right. This button will open a small drop-down menu with various specialist types. Click the one you think is most suitable (or ask Pippen for its recommendations, if it is not already discovered from the “Treatment Options” feature). There is no need to click the ↑ first.
You may scroll through the list of specialists or begin to type the first few letters of the specialist type. After clicking the appropriate specialist, Pippen will draft a referral letter based on your encounter and discussions.
To end the encounter, click the “End Encounter” button in the top right.
And there you have it! A referral letter generated from your own rough notes. No need think about how to appropriately phrase the reason for referral- Pippen produces this for you! A full-time family physician writes up to 30 referrals a week- if Pippen saves you 1-2 minutes per referral, imagine what you can do with an hour back of your time!
